So today, we went to Kansas City, Childrends Mercy to do Kaesyns upper GI test. Amazing hopsital, just wish some of the specialist there were just as fascinating as the decor they have. We got in there, they put Kaesyn in a gown and strapped him to a a board, they strapped his feet, legs, chest, head and arms, he screamed needless to say. They gave him a bottle with barium in it, and he hated it. He spit it out, so they tried a syringe, he wouldnt take that either, so we tried a sippy cup, he swallowed some, and some more, but not enough. The radiologist requested a trach tube, but he finally swallowed JUST enough to do without the trach *THANK GOD* He had white barium all over his face and screamed the WHOLE time. SO FINALLY the UPPER GI test revealed, Kaesyns esphagus doesnt empty out as quick as it should. The xrays should have also revealed aspiration, but did not. Which if I heard the pulmonologist right, that is a bad that, since the lung xrays keep coming back with the infiltrates we were hoping that he was aspirating since that was the least serious condition it could be. Guess we will find out more when a pulmonologist decides that this is very important to find out.. other than that Kaesyn is doing good, with typical breathing. We are trying to find a pulse ox meter, so I can start documenting his oxygen level. Tired kids bedtime. GOOD NIGHT
